A major triad belongs to the simplest category of chords: it is a TRIAD so it consists of 3 different notes which are: LA-DO#-MI.
A major differs from Am only by one small note - instead of DO there is DO# (C sharp). On the guitar fretboard it results that you need to press down 3 strings on the same fret.
Different fingerings are in use - on this picture here you see that 2nd, 3rd and 4th fingers are use. But in classical music also barring 4th and 3rd strings is common. Then you should use the 2nd finger to press down the 2nd string and check carefully that the 1st open string rings!
